Pet owners are calling the world’s first human-sized dog bed a ‘dream’ come true

If you’ve ever taken a glimpse of your dog lounging around in its cozy bed and felt the green eyed monster take hold, a new creation by two university students could be what you’ve been waiting for.

Taking their love for napping to the next level, friends Noah Silverman and Yuki Kinoshita have designed the world’s first dog bed for humans.

After becoming jealous of their pampered pooches, the students from Vancouver co-founded Plufl to make their dreams a reality – and people can’t get enough.

According to Plufl’s website, the bed is “the ultimate product by nappers for nappers,” and has been designed to help alleviate symptoms of stress and anxiety.

As part of the product’s launch, Noah and Yuki created a Kickstarter crowdfunding page where they hoped to raise $25,000, which is around £20,000, to put their plan into action.

However, after gaining support from people across the globe, the founders have received over $290,000 in donations, which works out to be £237,000.

To help promote the brand, the students took to TikTok to show off the creation, where a video of the Plufl bed quickly went viral.

In one video, which has amassed a whopping 1.8million likes and has been shared almost 61,000 times, TikTok users were keen to show their support as they flooded the clip’s comment section.

“OMG, this is my dream,” wrote one user.

Another added: “I’ve been waiting for THIS”.

Someone else agreed and stated: “As a girl who lays on her dogs nasty bed, this is a need”.

And even pet experts have given the product their seal of approval.

“As someone who works at a vet clinic and takes naps on the huge dog bed instead of the couch during night shifts I highly approve,” one TikTok user explained.

Despite the masses of support, some users have expressed their sadness at the £320 price tag of the item.

“I was excited until I saw the price,” a user commented.

However, Plufl justified the price and stated: “Our price reflects the cost of producing Plufls using ethical production and sustainable materials.”

Far from being a glorified dog bed, the cozy crib is made from four-inch thick memory foam, orthopedic foam and is covered in faux fur to improve user comfort.

The creation, which is also machine washable, weighs 9kh and measures around 5.5 feet by 3 feet.

According to the brand’s Kickstarter page, the company aims to use naps to improve people’s mood and energy levels.

“Our society and workplaces have pushed us to a point where a large proportion suffer from sleep-related issues,” it reads.

“We believe in using the power of naps to improve our mental health and wellbeing.”
